For its startups, Demo Days are a graduation of sorts and a chance to court investors before heading out into the real world. Clocking in at 197 startups, YC's most recent batch was the largest class ever.
TechCrunch has a rundown on all the presentations from the first and second days of the event. Scroll through the entire list if you dare. If you do not dare, here are some meta-trends from this summer’s class:
- Repackaging popular apps or services for emerging markets
- Catering services for other startups
- Software to manage your software
- Productivity tools and workplace software for remote teams (@future of work)
Some emerging techy selections: Holy Grail is using AI to design batteries. Sorting Robotics does exactly what it sounds like, for marijuana. Yummy Future is building robot baristas. And TRM Labs is sniffing out crypto fraud for banking clients.
