Hey Tech Brew readers,

Tomorrow, you might notice a slight vibe shift in Tech Brew. Before we get there, I wanted to introduce myself, welcome our new writer Whizy Kim, and share a bit about what’s changing—and what’s staying familiar.

I’m Saira Mueller, the new editor of the Tech Brew newsletter. We’re evolving Tech Brew because technology never stops moving—and neither do the people using it. As tech shapes everything from your workflow to your weekend, we want this newsletter to keep pace and stay genuinely useful.

After more than a decade with WIRED, CNN, and more, I’ve learned that the most compelling tech stories aren’t about gadgets or code—they’re about the ripple effects of tech on work, culture, and life. That’s the lens we’re bringing to the next chapter of Tech Brew.

So what’s new? For starters, we’re now landing in your inbox Monday through Friday. You’ll also see a broader mix of coverage: the latest tech news, consumer tech breakthroughs, workplace tools, smart gadgets, tech-meets-culture moments, and fresh reporting on where business and technology collide.

We’re also introducing new recurring sections that highlight the gear people swear by, the tech tips and life hacks that actually help, and the funny, bizarre, or painfully relatable ways people use (and misuse) tech every day.

We’re here to give you the clarity, context, and guidance you need to navigate technology—and use it to actually make your life easier.

But widening our scope doesn’t mean leaving behind what you already love. The tech team you’ve been reading for years—Annie Saunders, Tricia Crimmins, Patrick Kulp, and Jordyn Grzelewski—aren’t going anywhere. You’ll continue to see their original, deeply reported stories in this newsletter every week.

And you’ll be hearing regularly from Whizy Kim, who’s joining as our newest Tech Brew writer. Whizy has spent years covering the economy, labor, tech, and culture, and brings a sharp mix of curiosity and skepticism to the stories everyone’s talking about.

We’re excited to build this with you—and to be your lively, useful guide to the tech that’s shaping daily life. Whizy and I are already on the ground at CES in Vegas getting started.
