How would you describe your job to someone who doesn’t work in tech?

I’m an associate to a worldwide group that focuses on reducing the carbon footprint at zero cost to our customers, by using IoT devices to make energy consumption more efficient.

What’s your favorite emerging tech project you’ve worked on?

Worldwide-scaled cloud services, supported by IoT edge technologies and AI.

What emerging tech are you most optimistic about? Least? And why?

Most: AI algorithms to automatically and efficiently manage energy consumption, based on situational awareness. This—because when interconnected to microgrid deployments—would be the most efficient energy-management and energy-savings tool.

Least: I’m mostly optimistic on emerging tech, because there’s always a niche for everything that focuses on solving an important problem—or we could build and iterate upon it even if it fails.

What’s the best piece of tech-related media you’ve read/watched/listened to?

Wired’s April 2020 special issue: The Climate Issue. It is just fantastic.

One thing we can’t guess from your LinkedIn profile?

I’m a nerd physicist who wants to live on Mars in the near future.

What do you think about when you’re not thinking about tech?

Heavy metal, future contact with alien civilizations and slowing aging techniques.
