Last week, Tesla began rolling out Software Version 10.0 to its customers around the world. While the name of the update sounds dry, it's anything but boring.

Tesla Model S, X, and 3 owners can now experience the streaming wars right on their dashboards with the ability to watch Netflix, YouTube, or Hulu. They can also listen to Spotify or play Tesla's new "Car-aoke" feature (cringe), which is exactly what it sounds like. The company gave Tesla Arcade some updates and started offering an "I'm Feeling Lucky" navigation feature.

Owners who have purchased Full Self-Driving or Enhanced Autopilot will also get "Smart Summon." With this feature, a Tesla can autonomously drive up to you from the parking lot, as long as you're in line of sight.

Bottom line: Behold the beauty of connected cars. A company can send over-the-air software updates that unlock new features like streaming services or semiautonomous driving.
